One of my favorite things about summer is BBQ’n. I love it! The food always taste great, there is little to clean up, and it’s fun. I am always looking for new and improved ways to cook on the grill. So when I was given a chance to work with McCormick you can only imagine my excitement.
About McCormick Grill Mates:
Montreal Steak: A Blend of all-natural spices and herbs including coarsely ground black pepper, and red pepper, dill and coriander, boosts the delicious flavor of steak and burgers.
Smoky Montreal Steak: With that “just off the grill” smokiness you crave, this all-natural sauce adds another layer of flavor to the classic Montreal taste.
Backyard Brick Oven Seasoning Blend: This robust blend combines with garlic, red pepper, oregano and basil to bring the enticing flavor and aroma of the neighborhood pizza shop and grill. Great for chicken, sea food, pork, and grilled pizza.
Worcestershire Pub Burger Seasoning Blend: Take the number one grilled food-the burger to the next level with the bold blend of Worcestershire, black pepper, and garlic.
Smokin’ Sweet Tea Marinade: This marinade offers the sweet indulgent taste of southern sweet tea with a smokey twist. Best with chicken breast, pork chops and steak.
Slow & Low Tennessee Smokehouse BBQ Rub: Inspired by the taste of authentic regional barbeque, this rub offers a smoke-infused blend of garlic, onion, brown sugar and spices ideal for seasoning a whole chicken and other cuts of chicken, pork or beef.
My Thoughts:
I am not the greatest cook by any means. I am one that I must have a step by step instruction to cook anything. I have cooked a basic chicken, vegetable, and a potato meal but honestly it was a bland meal. It really didn’t have a spectacular taste. Little did I know what all McCormick had to offer that could fix that “bland” taste. My favorite was the Smokin’ Sweet Tea Marinade! I have a lot of family in the south and LOVE sweet tea. I had no idea about having that kind of taste on my chicken. My husband really loves the Smoky Montreal Steak Sauce. He enjoys the smokey zest taste that it leaves on his steaks. I spent some time surfing McCormick site and was really impressed with the different tips and recipes they provided for both grilling, entertainment, and every day cooking. Here is one of my favorites:
Turn your charcoal grill into a smoker:
- Soak wood chips in water for at least thirty minutes.
- Nestle and aluminum drip pan filled with water between two piles of charcoal.
- Light charcoal and allow to heat until a subtle coating of grey ash forms.
- Sprinkle soaked wood chips directly onto coals, and allow them to start smoking before placing the food directly over the drip pan.
- Cover and grill as you normally would, adding more wood chips as needed until flavorful smoke has permeated the food.
After a few meals using the different seasons, marinade, and their tips I began feeling like a master chef! Take a look at their site and tell me a new tip or recipe that you liked!
