I am the mother of a 14 year old girl. That being said, many of you know that means I have a myriad of 14 year old girl problems. The biggest overall problem she faces is appearance. From top to toe, kids want to look good. The magazines they read have perfect looking models with perfect looking faces. Guess what? Aspen doesn’t have a perfect looking face most of the time. She has *GASP* zits! She also has a mother that firmly believes in natural products. Up until this point, that has been a sore spot with my teen and I. Then came along the new line from Neutorogena, Neutrogena Naturals!
Everybody gets acne. It’s a fact of life. Think of it as a right of passage if you will. But just because we all get it, doesn’t mean we have to like it! Because I am so firm with the use of chemicals, it makes it a little harder to find products that actually fight the acne.
I was recently given the opportunity to try and review the Neutrogena Natural Acne Collection. It is a 3 part collection that consists of Acne Cream Cleanser, Acne Foaming Scrub, and the Acne Spot Treatment. Normally when I want my daughter to try a new acne product she gets a little perturbed. She didn’t disappoint! I heard her whole spiel about how it won’t work, we’ve tried it all before, please just let her use what her friends are using(which, by the way, they STILL have zits!) and then she conceded to at least give it a 2 week trial. Man is she glad she did!
When she started using the Neutrogena Naturals Acne Collection she was just starting a break-out. You can see here in the before picture that she has a few zits and some red spots that will quickly turn into zits. Off to the shower with her!
She faithfully washed her face twice a day using the Acne Cream Cleanser in the morning and the Acne Foaming Scrub at night. She used the Acne Spot Treatment on the already formed spots. Here is a picture of her 1 week into the treatment. She still has some red spots, but the zits are gone.
And here she is today, 2 weeks after she started. You can tell a major difference! The red spots have cleared and no new zits have formed. Her face isn’t overly dry like you see from time to time with acne products. Her skin looks healthy and clean.
I honestly loved the products Aspen tried. 93% naturally-derived product, eco friendly packaging, not tested on animals, supported by a company that uses renewable energy. What’s not to love, right? Aspen loved the way her skin felt clean and cool, the fresh citrus(Natural!!) scent, and the fact that it is small and easy to take with her on the go. I didn’t find anything negative to report on this product, and neither did she. As a mother, I am thrilled to have a solution that we are both happy with. As a teenager, she is thrilled with the fact that her face has cleared up and stayed that way!

I can get this kid to take pictures all the time! I probably have more pictures of her than anyone, lol! I love that I can run into the drug store or even Wal-Mart and pick some up.

My daughter is 10 and is already starting to get a random zit every once in a while. I haven’t bought her a specific product because of the chemicals and side affects that some of the popular acne brands have. This product from Neutrogena is exactly what I have been looking for. I am so happy to see Neutrogena making products for those who need more than just a wash. As a teenager I was blessed with near perfect skin and washed with Neutrogena only because I had very sensitive skin. My sister inherited my father’s acne prone skin and she suffered so much from it and for it. I wish something like this would have existed 40 years ago.
I can’t belive you got her to let you take pics! My son, age 13 (almost 14) refuses. I like Neutrogena products. We’re currently using Avon, but since Neutrogena is readily available in stores, I suspect once we run out I will give this a try.

My daughter also uses Neutrogena products and loves them! Her face has been clear since using them. She has tried other products and nothing worked well or for very long until she went to the Neutrogena products!
