How to check your hotel room for bed bugs….

Bed Bugs….Yuck!!

According to Wikipedia: Bed bugs are parasitic insects of the cimicid family that feed exclusively on blood. The term most commonly refers to members of the genus Cimex of which Cimex lectularius, the common bed bug, is the best known as it prefers to feed on human blood. Also it says; A number of adverse health effects may result from bed bug bites, including skin rashes, psychological effects, and allergic symptoms

I have to admit that I really never thought about checking for bed bugs at hotels. I don’t know why, because it makes sense for bed bugs to be there more than at my house. I guess it’s cause I never really had to deal with them so I don’t worry about it. But after seeing this image and reading how easy it is to check for bed bugs I think it will become a must do routine when I visit hotels this summer.  They are very tiny and live in the binding and crevices of anything they can find to hide. It’s important to check everything!!! Yes everything. That includes: books, blanket, mattress  box springs, head boards, chairs, and even the iron board. It takes a little bit of time to do it, but it’s worth it. Moxi Pest Control’s site is full of information that will help you learn more about bed bugs and hotels.
