I really like my house, but there are days that I wish I could change something, anything! Being a renter, modifications are not something that we can just do on a whim, or likely at all. I started to hear a lot of buzz about Philips Hue. This sounded like a way I could enhance my home without making any major changes. Perfect!

With the Philips Hue You can experience a new world for home lighting and transform the way you use light by adjusting colors, timers, alerts and more from your phone or mobile device. The bulbs, accessory lights and bridge work with your Wi-Fi to let you create mood-setting color schemes, or enjoy the right light setting for reading, relaxing, concentrating and many more. You can also easily maintain an automatic schedule while you’re vacationing – so that it looks like you’re home.

The absolute best thing about the Philips Hue a19 starter kit is that it is super easy to set up and if you lack confidence, don’t, the GeekSquad is on your side!
If you have the starter kit you will screw in the new light bulbs into your light sockets and turn on the light switch.
If you have a Hue Go or a Hue Lightstrip Plus all you need to do is plug them in then turn them on.

Next, plug in the bridge to power it up, The bridge comes with an ethernet cable that you use to plug the bridge directly into the router. We received a Netgear Nighthawk DST Router. This made set up a breeze. You will know the setup is complete when all 3 lights on the bridge are on.
On a WiFi enabled device, download the Phillips Hue app. After installation, open the app and follow the directions. The first step is for the app is to connect the bridge and the next step is to find the lights. Then you’re done. After the app is set-up you are ready to go.

The Philips Hue system allows you to change the intensity and color of lights in your home. This makes it so wonderful. I can alter the lighting with a few touches to a screen and my desire to do something different with the house is satisfied! I can also make sure I turned a light off, or turn one on when I am on the go which is a great safety feature!
In combination with Philips Hue Go and the Rope Lights, you can really add a mood setting feature to your home. What was once a room is now a scene. Romantic, inviting, warm, whatever mood feels right for you right now.
Where would you Hue in your house? Living room? Bedroom?
Philips Hue fits perfect in my bedroom. I’m loving them.
This is a really good overview – how are you finding the lights after a year of using them?
I really like your review! Phillips Hue seems so easy to use. I also like how you can use it with the new Amazon Echo for voice activated lights. Pretty cool!
