Christmas time is one of my favorite times of the year. There is so much you can do to get into the spirit. Especially when there are little ones around. Whether youโre creating heartfelt personalized mementos for friends and loved ones, turning your home into a winter wonderland, or looking for a fun, easy way to entertain your little ones during the holidays, crafts certainly help to make the season bright.
Zoey O and Bryson both love to color! They are always asking to color or draw pictures. So this year I decided to spice up the way they color. Crayola certainly made it pretty easy to do so. ย I used construction paper, washable markers, colored pencils, glitter glue, slick sticks, and model magic. I bet you’re wondering how you can spice up coloring with model magic. Easy..but you got to read to find out.
The first thing I did was find a cute coloring page for them to color. Than I encourage them to color the picture but they had to use all the items at least once. This encourages them to think outside the box and use different textures. Zoey O favorite thing to use was the glitter glue and Bryson liked using the slick sticks. I have to admit the slick sticks were pretty neat.
After they finished coloring their pages we cute them out ย and glued it to a piece of construction paper. Here’s were the model magic came into play. We used it to make a frame for our coloring page. ย The model magic is perfect because you can let it dry out and then it will stay. However if you want to use it again all you have to do is stick it in a Ziploc baggies.
Once their picture was framed and done they each got to choose what to do with their picture. Ironically they both decided to give it to their teacher for Christmas. It does make a perfect gift for a teacher. Simple, easy, affordable, unique and personal.
