Cirque du Soleil’s #CRYSTAL
Let’s talk about Cirque du Soleil’s new show CRYSTAL…should you attend? Short answer: Yes!! It’s every little kid’s dream, an amazing show for adults, and an all-around great family event! You’ll see everything from ice skating, gymnastics, juggling, hockey, live music, and daring stunts to an intriguing story line. This post is a sponsored post, but all opinions, stories, and my experience are all personal and true (like always)!
From start to finish Crystal lasts about 2 hours, but it feels much shorter. The amazing feats of athleticism, the choreography, and the enthralling plot has you on your toes, watching intently just waiting for the next breathtaking act. You never know what’s going to happen next and where with action all over the ice and even up in the air!
The best part there is something for everyone. My 11 year old son LOVED the hockey scene; my 7 year old daughter loved the flying in the air and acrobatic cheer stunts; my 9 year old daughter loved the live music and the clown that had appearances throughout the whole show from the 30 minutes before start time to the very end! She got a kick out of him from the very beginning when he hit her with a snowball. My two year old’s attention was caught by the stunts, lights, and music.
Among my favorite things was the was live music that was playing throughout entire show, intertwining the emotion of the characters with the choreographed scenes as part of the overall experience. It made you feel a personal connection with the story. What also caught my eye were the amazing stunts and downright magical performance by an extremely talented group. Their amazing acts left me in a state of joy and disbelief. The strength and the trust that these performers have in each other is simply astounding!
My husband’s point of view comes from an athletic standpoint. He was a three-sport collegiate athlete has been an educator, athletic director, principal, and coach of multiple sports for the past 12 years. Having spent countless hours training athletes, he truly appreciated the time and preparation that everyone obviously had to undergo in order to make the show a success. Events like these are not successful without many people coming together in committed preparation. Based on their performance, it was very evident that this indeed was the case.
The Crystal is making is appearing for a couple more nights in Wichita, so you still have time to catch it! I strongly recommend you do so. You will not be disappointed and it will be a rare experience that your whole family will always remember. Not in Wichita? No worries; the show will be appearing all over the US.
