Christmas Treat made out Alpha Bits Cereal
Kids love to snack! Mine are no exception. As a family we are taking steps to live healthier lives, so I am always looking for healthier snack options that taste good and have nutritional value.
Incorporating cereal into our snacks is a great way to satisfy our need to snack without turning to chips or candy. Taking small steps to better health seems to be working well for us, this recipe is a small step. It does contain butter and marshmallows, but it is also packed full of 12 essential vitamins and minerals as well as whole grain.
Ingredients:
4 cups of Alphabits cereal 1/4 cup of butter 10 ounces of marshmallows (1 bag) ( I used pink but any color-including white- is fine) sprinkles (I used red and green)
Prepare an 11×13″ pan sprayed lightly with cooking spray
Instructions:
In a large pot melt 1/4 cup of butter and 10 ounces of marshmallows over medium/low heat. Stir frequently. When the marshmallows and butter have melted remove from heat, immediately add in Alphabits cereal. Stir until the cereal is coated. Add in sprinkles. Stir well. Press into the prepared pan. Allow to cool and set for about an hour. Cut into squares and serve.
Bask in the smiles and compliments these will bring your way. Does your family love cereal snacks? Do you have a favorite recipe for cereal treats? Tell me about it in a comment please.
