3 Things You May Not Know About Stargirl
Many people find themselves opting for streaming services over cable and dish nowadays. With a wide variety of options to choose from such as Hulu, Disney+, Amazon Prime and Netflix, it’s way easier for people to check out a show on their own time versus trying to fit a show into their already busy schedules. However, a downside to streaming is all the choices you have at your fingertips. Sometimes, you’ll end up spending time just browsing through each category instead of actually choosing something. Geoff Johns executively produced a new series, Stargirl, that is worth a watch. Here are three tidbits of info about the series to encourage you to check it out.
1. Her Stepdad is Pretty Cool
Stargirl isn’t a big fan of her stepdad when her mom first marries him, but they grow to be a great team. Pat Dugan couldn’t put up his days of fighting crime and serving justice, so when Stargirl gets involved in the superhero business, he decides to get back involved, too. He helps Stargirl in the series and becomes S.T.R.I.P.E. the powerful sidekick. Since he is older, he creates a suit to give him some much-needed power and protection as he fights. Who says age has to hold you back?!
2. She Isn’t Super Secretive About Her Identity
Most superheroes guard their identifies with their life and want to remain as incognito as possible. However, Stargirl isn’t that way. She reveals her identity to more people than normal. In fact, she’s so open about it, it’s not even known how many people are aware of who she is. She is a younger hero when she goes into the superhero business, so she doesn’t really think about how letting people know about her secret identity could possibly harm her family.
3. Her Real Dad Isn’t Good
They say blood is thicker than water but not in Stargirl’s case. Her biological dad was actually a bad guy who worked for villains and criminals. While he wasn’t a big player in the supervillains world, he wasn’t good by any means. She ends up totally cutting ties with him when he joins the Royal Flush Gang and actually ends up calling her stepdad, Pat, dad.
With so many options on the media market today, sometimes you can miss out on shows you should be watching. Hopefully, this info will seal the deal about adding the Stargirl series to your must-watch list.
