We can’t deny the fact that there is still a gap between the number of men and women in the tech industry. Quantity is not the only issue either. Studies complied by the New Jersey Institute of Technology suggest that there is still a pay gap in science and technology. Most of the women who pursue a science degree such as an online masters in computer science tend to choose healthcare or education as their field of work. Fortunately, real steps are being made to change that.
There are more introductory courses and programming workshops currently being designed for younger women and girls, especially those who are in middle school. Online courses from top universities are also making it easier for women to enter this field now that they can pursue a master’s degree while maintaining a full time job.
