You might not worry too much about stress, but it can cause serious health problems. With excess levels of stress, you might notice that you experience changes to your body. You can put on weight, lose your hair and stress has even been linked as a possible cause of several forms of cancer. Now, that we’ve got your attention it’s time to ask the important question. Why are you stressed? What on earth is making you feel as if the sky is about to fall down on your head? Well, there are a few reasons that you might be dealing with high levels of stress.

Lack Of Sleep

It’s fair to say that lack of sleep can be one of the main causes of stress and it doesn’t take a genius to figure out why. When you sleep you rejuvenate the body, and you put your mind at rest. So, without sleep, you’re going to find it more difficult to tackle the problems that you might encounter on a daily basis. And, the fact that you won’t be able to deal with these issues could just make you even more stressed. Are you starting to see the problem?

The answer? Make sure that you get the hours of sleep you need each night. You should be aiming for somewhere between 8 and 10 hours. Any less than that and you won’t have enough sleep to function at your maximum potential. Any more and you will feel drowsy. If you are struggling to get enough sleep, you might want to start using Magnesium for sleep. Magnesium can help with levels of anxiety, stress and lack of sleep, so it’s a very useful supplement to add to your diet. Of course, a lack of sleep is just one of the problems that can cause stress.

Worrying About Nothing

Are you a constant worrier? Do you find yourself panicking about things that are far beyond your control? Or perhaps, were never within your control, to begin with. If that’s the case, you should think about practising calming techniques to ensure that your fears don’t get the better of you. Breathing exercises will help here a lot. With the right breathing exercises, you should be able to ensure that you don’t get overly stressed about things beyond your control. When you complete regulated breathing, your brain gets more oxygen, allowing it to function far more effectively.

If you have never used breathing exercises before to regulate your level of tension, you might want to think about trying yoga. Yoga helps you workout the body and the mind at the same time.

No Time

Finally, usually, if you are stressed it’s because you don’t have the right level of control in your life. You are always in a rush to do something or get somewhere. If that’s the case, you should think about setting a new schedule for yourself, ensuring that you get the level of rest you need, while guaranteeing there is still enough time in the day to tackle all your problems.
