My son’s favorite sandwich was the “Black Belt Sandwich”. It looked like a little ninja head.
2 slices bread of choice
2 Tbs. mayonnaise
2 slice each, cheddar and swiss cheese
baby carrots or other veggies
large round class or cookie cutter
Fill lunch container with carrots. Cut 2 circles from bread using round glass or cookie cutter. Place both rounds on baby carrots and decorate top round.
Cut shapes for hair from cheese. “Glue” into place with a bit of mayo. Cut one strip from swiss for band on head and tiny circle from radish with paring knife. Eyes and mouth can be cut using scissors or nori punches. Reserve mayo in a container for spreading at mealtime.
She gives you a little tip: placing a round piece of wax paper between the sandwich and carrots will keep the moisture from invading your karate kid.
I was amazed how something so cool looking was so simple to do! One thing that made this great was she gave you the templates to cut on these pieces in the back of the book. Also in the back of the book was several different recipes that were great to try.
|Another great idea that you can find on her website!|
Not only does she offer this neat book of ideas, but if you visited her site you can for more ideas. On her site you can find her shop and you can buy this book and other tools that you would need to make doing these cool sandwiches a little easier.
