There’s a strange stereotype that seems to be pretty prevalent in the world of fitness that says that all men want to bulk up a build muscle and all women want to slim down and lose weight. The kind of nutrition that your body needs is going to be pretty different when you’re trying to build up muscle compared to trying to lose weight. For one thing, your calorific intake is going to need to be a lot higher. I’m sure you just winced at that idea but don’t worry! It’s all about balance. Too many calories and you could either end up bulking up more that you want to or just putting on weight instead of muscle. But you definitely want to increase the amount of calories that you’re taking in compared to if you were slimming down. Things like 1st Phorm protein powder can also be incredibly helpful if you’re not able to eat the amounts of protein rich foods that you are often required to have when building muscle. Again, this isn’t going to be the kind of workout that’s for everyone, but if you’re going to do it, then you should do it right.

Workout Styles

For one thing, it’s time to throw cardio out of the window. Okay, not quite but it’s still very important that you don’t treat that as the only, or the even the most important part of your workout. Instead, it’s time to embrace weight training. Of course, if you’re just starting out on your journey to achieve some serious gains then you’re probably going to want to start small. You don’t convert your workout energy into muscle while you’re working out. Instead, you do it while you’re resting. Because of this, you need to take rest days in order to see any real results. So don’t be afraid to take a day in bed watching Netflix every now and then!
